Emergency Lighting Inspection & Testing

Annual duration test and certification to BS 5266.

Emergency lighting must illuminate escape routes if the mains supply fails. We carry out function testing and the full annual three-hour duration test to BS 5266, confirm each luminaire holds its rated duration, and certify the system.

We test and maintain emergency lighting in communal areas, HMOs, offices and commercial buildings, and replace failed luminaires or batteries on the spot where we can.

Frequently asked questions

What is the annual duration test?

It runs the emergency luminaires on battery for their full rated duration (usually three hours) to confirm they will last long enough during a real power failure.

Can you fix failures during the visit?

Often yes — we carry common luminaires and batteries, and will quote for anything larger before proceeding.
